Joe’s Teaview Snapshot
"This has become one of my favorite teas. Being caffeine free and rich in minerals and anti-oxidants makes it a tea anyone can enjoy any time of the day or night."

I have a bit of a reputation at work because I don't drink coffee, love tea and talk about my rescue dog nonstop. Perhaps this is why one of my colleagues (who happens to be a fanatic about her poodle) returned from a recent trip to South Africa with a box of tea.I always love to try new teas, but I would describe the box slightly less than inviting. Inside, all the tea bags are packed in a foil wrapper that isn't particularly easy to open. And the tea bags come in pairs. Warnings to anyone who tries to separate the two bags by hand as it's easy to accidentally rip open the bag. Straining small pieces of twigs and leaves through your teeth is not a pleasant experience. After the tea has been steeped for three to five minutes ...œ the fun begins.
Anyone who knows that my favorite tea is Kashmiri Chai would probably not recommend Honeybush which is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Any chai is bursting with compound flavors. Honeybush has a subtle rather flat taste with the slight fragrance of orange and a sweet honey-like tang. This has become one of my favorite teas. Being caffeine free and rich in minerals and anti-oxidants makes it a tea anyone can enjoy any time of the day or night. I suggest steeping it for the full five (or even six) minutes and adding some honey and soymilk.
