Christine’s Teaview Snapshot
"It reminded me of very light green tea, with absolutely no astringency. Since oolongs can almost always be steeped at least a few more times, I did steeped a twice more, and each time the flavor became a bit more delicate, but still absolutely delicious."

Oolongs are an entirely new beast for me. Up until a few weeks ago, I'd never even had a single cup of oolong. My access to loose leaf tea is fairly limited due to location (small town) and budget (poor college student), and I have yet to even see oolong in a tea bag, so I just never really had the opportunity. I had no idea what I was missing out on, though: oolongs are awesome, and this was the one that sold me.The leaves for this one are rolled in a kind of L shape, which I think is cool. Once steeped, the leaves unfurl to many times their original size, which continues to amaze me no matter how many times I watch it happen. Not to mention my roommate's reaction when he first saw it - he thought I was steeping lettuce. The scent of the unbrewed tea smelled, to me, almost exactly like matcha (green tea powder), which I've noticed, at least in the oolongs that I've tried, seems to be common.
The brewed tea smelled much more vegetal, but still had a hint of underlying sweetness. The flavor was delicate, but not too delicate, and tasted very much like the brewed tea smelled: vegetal, with a hint of sweetness. It reminded me of very light green tea, with absolutely no astringency. Since oolongs can almost always be steeped at least a few more times, I did steeped a twice more, and each time the flavor became a bit more delicate, but still absolutely delicious.
Bottom Line: I'm no expert in oolongs, but even as a newbie, I'm impressed by this tea. It has a wonderful flavor that's not quite like anything I've had before, and I have to say I love it. This is definitely going my must-buy list.
