This unique blend from Golden Moon smells exactly like what the name promises. The vanilla aroma is smooth and sweet, the mint scent is uplifting. I was anxious to try this blend because it's vanilla mint, not chocolate mint-a flavor that is much more common. I've always kept my eyes open for a vanilla mint blend, as it seems they'd pair just as well together.Though the scent of this tea is pleasant and balanced, I couldn't help but think that it's possible the tea would have a toothpaste taste to it. If you pay too much attention to it, it does, to a certain degree. If you drink it casually it's not really there, and the mint and vanilla do blend well together. Their strength are equally matched and you taste them as one flavor; very well blended.
I do want to note that the first time I brewed this tea, it was pretty bitter. At first it was tolerable, but it got worse as it cooled. Golden Moon teas (the few that I've had) don't seem to bitter too easily, so I thought maybe I oversteeped it. The first time I tried it, I was at work, and I may have let it sit too long. For my second cup, I was at home, and could make sure my timing was just right. This cup is much better, and all of the bitterness is gone.
If you like vanilla or mint, I'd recommend trying this blend for a taste of something different. It's not extraordinary, but overall, it's a nice blend that you don't see everyday.
