Geoff’s Teaview Snapshot
"It definitely possessed the nutty flavor the site boasted and went down smooth; no real kick. Second cup possessed a clearer almond-like residual. In short, excellent."

Zhi Tea immediately earned my ire with this one by advertising the weight loss properties of Wuyi oolong tea. I waxed malcontent about my loathing of this gimmicky fad in a prior entry. Zhi's points for authenticity and class went down several notches for simply making the same assertion.I'm better now. Honest.
It was high time I actually tried a Wuyi oolong tea to beef up my street (or text?) cred. The website indicated that the taste of the resulting liquor should resemble toasted almonds or raisins. I scoffed at this. The only thing nutty about this oolong were the dietary claims. Or so I thought.
I brewed this up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 minutes, 3 teaspoons per 12 ounces of water. The brew came out a thick, dark amber. Dare I say, almost beer-like? It definitely possessed the nutty flavor the site boasted and went down smooth; no real kick. Second cup possessed a clearer almond-like residual. In short, excellent.
Damn, and I really wanted to rip into it. You win this round, Zhi.

I wouldn’t be too hard for them. Its not like they didn’t already have a Wuyi, and I can’t imagine how hard it is not to stick a weightloss claim when you see how often people are searching for “OPRAH WEIGHTLOSS TEA WOOYEE”….
