The scent of the tea bag excited the senses as it promised of a spicy,flavorful cup with a slight coconut flavor.It was a good cup of bagged basic chai but the coconut flavoring was too subtle, if at all existent. Unfortunately, I had the expectation that the coconut would hold some distinctive taste as it had a distinctive scent in the packaging. However, in the defense of the tea, the vender's website explains that "The sweet hint of tropical coconut fragrantly fills the cup;" perhaps the coconut was only meant to have an impact on the aromatic experience rather than the flavor.
As for just considering this a basic chai tea, it was fine. It was perfect for those who find other chai teas to be too spicy. The flavors of ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon melded together in a much more subdued form to not overexciting the palate. In that sense, I would have to disagree with the venders description of this being robust and full flavored as I found it to be subtle compared to other bagged chai teas.

Zhena’s Gypsy Tea Coconut Chai is awesome!! Superb masterful blend of spices and flavorings. Tastes yummy on its own or with skim milk and sweetner. Very unique flavor. A great tea to pamper oneself. Yumo!!
