Thumbs up!"This has more of a genuine, dark chocolate aftertaste. The raspberry is a sweet raspberry flavor and reminds me of a raspberry that you would find in a good raspberry truffle and has no tartness. I had no trouble sipping this down."

kalharichocoraspberry.jpg"The blend of naturally caffeine-free herb with deep flavor or roasted cacao, and fresh essence of lush, juicy ripe raspberries." --- Kalahari Cafe website.

As a lover of decadent dessert teas, I felt compelled to request a sample of this even though I knew it was a bagged tea. Kalahari Cafe is a company that primarily specializes in artisan, red tea bags. One thing that I love about rooibos is that it marries itself so well with dessert flavors so I am hoping that this will help satisfy a dessert craving.

I steeped this in boiling water for about 5 minutes. The ingredients in this include organic rooibos, organic dark roasted cacao, natural raspberry flavor and organic chocolate flavor. The primary taste in this for me is the rooibos. The raspberry truffle flavors are fairly mild yet tasty. Adding a little sweetener does greatly bring out the flavors and makes this much more dessert-like. I also liked that the chocolate tasted pretty natural It doesn't taste all cheap and waxy the way some of them in teas do. This has more of a genuine, dark chocolate aftertaste. The raspberry is a sweet raspberry flavor and reminds me of a raspberry that you would find in a good raspberry truffle and has no tartness. I had no trouble sipping this down.

Overall I found this cup to be pretty tasty. I loved the lingering dark chocolate aftertaste in this, but would have to agree with a fellow reviewer's description of this being reminiscent of a watered-down raspberry hot chocolate. This is a pretty good chocolate craving cup to reach for, but I do recommend a little sweetener if you want a more dessert-like experience. At $4.99 for 20 bags, this one is worth your consideration.
