Christine’s Teaview Snapshot
"This is a winner. It's a wonderful introduction to osmanthus-scented tea, and would even be a decent starter tea for someone new to white tea. This one is sure to be a regular in my tea cupboard."

Until trying this tea, I'd never tried osmanthus-scented tea; I tend to shy away from floral teas, though I'm glad I tried this one, as it's positively delicious. This is a white tea, and the leaves live up to that moniker with large, full leaves and quite a bit of variation in color, from light grey to a darker green. There are plenty of osmanthus buds, too, which provide a nice contrast to the greens of the leaves.
I've never smelled osmanthus before, but if it smells anything like this tea, I think I've been missing out. It doesn't smell floral like I was expecting; it actually smells kind of fruity and incredibly sweet, but not sickeningly sweet. I think the easiest way to describe is simply delicious.
Not too surprisingly, the brewed tea doesn't taste quite as vibrant as it smells, but it's still delicious. It does taste a bit more floral, and the white tea is clearly distinguishable (but blends nicely with the osmanthus), but it retains the sweetness of the smell, if more subdued.
Bottom Line: This is a winner. It's a wonderful introduction to osmanthus-scented tea, and would even be a decent starter tea for someone new to white tea. This one is sure to be a regular in my tea cupboard.
