Numi’s Teaview Snapshot

The sample came beautifully packaged with plenty of room for the whole leaf loose tea to move around without getting crushed. This oolong tea from Wuyi, China claims in a little note on the package to be full of minerals, blossoms, and fruit notes. Judging from the deliciously brothy oolong tea scent, I can't decipher any of the particular notes, but when something smells this good, I almost don't care what it's made of. Actually, after three minutes of steeping time, the tea has a less brothy scent that's deeper and woodier than other oolongs I've tasted. The taste, unfortunately, is weaker than I hoped. The lighter body doesn't meet the expectations set up by the delicious scent. The tea itself is very nice: user friendly, drinkable, tasty tea that would be a good general choice, though I'm inclined to keep looking.

Please note, the Great Red Clock that has been reviewed here was not sent by us at JING Tea. It is part of a range we have sold through the Journal of Chinese Medicine but it is a 2007 crop and is not the tea that is currently sold on the Jing Tea website. The new tea has been renamed Big Red Robe which will appear on the label of the new crop.
Thanks,
David (Jing Tea)
