WOW! First of all, I owe a huge thank-you to Jessica (from Authoritea), who opted to swap some of this for a bag of mate. This is an AMAZING blend and I had been wanting to try this for awhile. Apparently, this sells out a lot and is not always in stock. It tastes so good that I frankly can't believe Jessica was willing to part with an ounce of this. FYI---this is one of her favorites too.The first thing you have to do when you drink this is get the notion out of your head that this tastes anything like pumpkin!! Dragonwater describes this as "Rooibos with a fruity pumpkin and cream taste. A must try." The list of ingredients is a little unorthodox and will confirm for you that the flavor you are trying to identify is, in fact, honeydew melon. Ingredients: Rooibos, honeydew melon cubes, apple pieces, stinging nettle leaves, sunflower petals and natural flavoring. What are stinging nettles? They come off a herbaceous plant that is known for its medicinal properties---including that they are believed to help the body heal itself.
To me, this tastes like honeydew and vanilla cream. I like this with a touch of sugar and I suspect this would be great cold. Not sure why they call this pumpkin rooibos--other than maybe they had concerns that no one would order a honeydew and cream flavored tea? Even if this doesn't sound particularly appealing to you, I have to tell you it is awesome and I am hooked!! This definitely is one of my favorites! After trying this I am looking forward to trying more of their teas. What a delicious blend--you will not be disappointed!
