tippy_earl_grey_big.jpgTo be honest, I find Golden Moon a bit irritating. Their website constantly touts how amazing their tea is, how they won first place at the World Tea Expo, and how stoked their customers are, etc. It's all very self-indulgent, and I really want to dislike them, but the fact is that their teas are actually pretty fantastic, so I can't begrudge the praise they get no matter how much I may want to.

Take their Tippy Earl Grey for instance: It was obviously designed to be the tea for Earl Grey lovers. It has an incredibly strong scent both pre-steeped and after. The flavour boldy jumps out with copious amounts of citrusy goodness, and it manages all this flavour and bite without adding any bitterness or harshness.

Golden Moon especially emphasizes their use of a higher-quality leaf than many of their Earl Grey competitors, and this makes their blend step easily above average Earl Grey blends with sadder leaf selections.

I believe Earl Grey is a good staple to have stocked in your tea cupboard, and this is certainly one of the best versions that accurately and bravely portays this popular flavour of tea.

Darn you Golden Moon. Darn you and your deliciousness.
