My fear before attempting this blend was that the natural strength of peppermint would overwhelm the soothing qualities of Rooibos that I yearn for. Although this fear was realized, the value of the tea is merely shuffled from the lazy evening category over to the casual afternoon category.The scent of peppermint is difficult to push aside before brewing, and perhaps even more so afterwards. A subtle hint of red tea squeezes its way around the headstrong mint aroma, but it is almost impossible to classify this blend's scent as anything beyond it.
This peppermint parade continues from the first sip to the last, although it's been toned down enough to serve as a cheery holiday tea. The flavor and subsequent experience are enjoyable, and I can't disagree with positive responses to the beverage. Personally, I seek Rooibos teas for calmer effects, and this consequently feels like it belongs paired with something else. Nonetheless, it is a good drink.
