Its OK"Even with a pinch of sugar (which I find improves most jasmine teas), it still doesn't have a very strong flavor. Although, I have tried a few loose leaf jasmine teas that were far worse than this, so it isn't all bad."

dragon-pearl-jasmine.jpgFor most people acquainted with loose leaf tea, tea bags (and satchets) are generally regarded as "the devil". Admittedly, even us loose leaf snobs occasionally enjoy a cuppa from a tea bag, or suffer through it for the convenience factor, but overall the quality of the tea in tea bags just isn't as high as pure loose leaf. Despite (or perhaps, because of) this fact, many tea companies are constantly working to come up with an acceptable combination of the quality of loose leaf and the convenience of tea bags. Dragon Pearls latest attempt at this strives high, but falls a bit short.

The tea bags themselves are made of, what appears to be, high quality silk, and, according to the insert that came with the samples, are "sonically sealed; no glue, no chemicals, nothing artificial." The tea inside the tea bags appears to be fairly good quality, too; they are "pearls", so it's hard to tell, but they look okay, and smell pretty good to boot. Not quite as strong as the loose leaf jasmine teas I've tried, but certainly enough that you want to to take it seriously.

The taste of the brewed tea is, unfortunately, rather weak. Even with a pinch of sugar (which I find improves most jasmine teas), it still doesn't have a very strong flavor. Although, I have tried a few loose leaf jasmine teas that were far worse than this, so it isn't all bad.

Bottom Line: For a bagged tea, this is definitely on the upper tier, but when compared to loose leaf counterparts, it's a little on the disappointing side. If you're looking for higher quality green jasmine in tea bags, and you're willing to shell out the cash for them, then this is just what you're looking for.
