"I found the white tea base to be better than many out there that accompany flavored blends and it produced a good cup."

"One of the most subtle and elegant teas that you will find, White Pomegranate tea's delicate flavors hint at the rejuvenating properties it contains. White tea offers a blend with an almost indescribable taste, and a pale, naturally sweet cup that has gentle fruity touches." --- Red Leaf Tea website.Red Leaf Tea is offering free shipping on their website for any size order, which is great! The website indicates that the ingredients in this are white tea, rosehips, and safflower threads. The dry sample didn't look like anything special in terms of the white tea (though no stems) and the ingredients are fairly standard for a pomegranate blend, though I must admit to being happy that there is no hibiscus in here. I infused about a tablespoon of this leaf in water that had bubbles formed on the bottom of my pot and were starting to rise to the top for about 2 min. The white tea used here is actually pretty good. It is not too strong and is nice, delicate and smooth. I would say that the flavor profile is similar----fairly mild. It does lack a little of the usual tartness that accompanies most pomegranate blends, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It does have a hint of tartness though and some fruitiness to it. This blend tastes very natural to me.
When I reached for this sample, I somehow expected that I wasn't going to be too enthused with it. However, this is actually a pretty nice and pleasant cup. I found the white tea base to be better than many out there that accompany flavored blends and it produced a good cup. Free shipping makes this blend a bit more economical as it is a tad on the pricey side. If you are looking for some pow in your pomegranate, then I would suggest that you look elsewhere. However, if you want a touch of pomegranate with a decent white tea base, then this is worth your consideration.
