Shelly’s Teaview Snapshot
"A delicious and gourmet pairing of two high quality flavors."
|
I'll admit I was sort of hesitant about this tea. Surprisingly so, because I love coconut and I love black tea. I've had a combination of the two and it's been OK. This seemed like it was going to be just a bit too much for me. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The Assam black tea was very smooth and not at all bitter. The Zhi Tea website characterized it as hearty, which is the reason I was expecting a much stronger brew. But the coconut overruled the black tea and created a silky and milky tea that swooshed around the mouth and down the throat.
The tea was not overly tropical or fakely coconut (which would have been just fine); it had more of a coconut essence than outright flavor. It also smelled divine. I think the pairing of these two strong flavors really worked here.
It is mild and straight up tea-like enough to satisfy the morning black tea drinker. But the coconut is an added bonus that still makes it drinkable daily without having to add sugar. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves black tea and coconut. It is a subtle combination of the best of both flavors.
