Tiny red needles compose the dry tea, much finer than the mean, reminiscent of a pine forest floor during late fall. The scent is extremely timid, slipping the slightest hint of vanilla in with a very pale redwood.This all but disappears after brewing, and any possibility of vanilla flavor slinks away into shadow. This is a very interesting turn of events, as it now presents itself as purely rooibos. The texture is proper. The warming and soothing properties are fair. The presence of vanilla remains a mystery, as it doesn't seem to have any bearing on the tea after brew, but the core traits of proper rooibos tea are properly represented.
As an important counterpoint, the personal connection with this tea is meeker than some of the other forms of rooibos available. Nonetheless, it is a fair drink.
