Katie’s Teaview Snapshot

My appreciation for jasmine has grown a great deal over the past few months, and I have been in love with Silver Needle tea ever since my first sip, so a jasmine Silver Needle tea sounded like a dream come true. I was expecting (and hoping for) a strong jasmine tea. I thought it would be similar to Teavana or Hasu's versions of Jasmine Pearls, which both have a great deal of jasmine punch to them without overpowering the tea.I steeped my cup with 180ish degree water for about four minutes, and I was disappointed with the results. Instead of a strongly jasmine tea, I ended up with a mostly Silver Needle tea containing a hint of jasmine. I respect the fact that, in order to avoid completely covering up the delicate taste of Silver Needle, Rishi had to be a touch light on the jasmine, but I wish they would have added just a bit more oomph. On the plus side, the Silver Needle itself is certainly delectable enough.
This is probably a good starter tea for someone new to jasmine, but I was hoping for something stronger. I guess I will keep looking.

Hi Katie,
Thank you for the review! Did you have a chance to experiment with the brew? We recommend using 185 degree spring water, 1 tablespoon of tea per 8 ounces with a 4 to five minute steeping time. We find these guidelines to impart a more pronounced flavor.
If you’re looking for a much stronger jasmine flavor, I highly recommend our 2008 World Tea Championship winner, Organic Jasmine Pearl.
Best wishes,
Ghazal on behalf of
