Thumbs up!"Without any additives, it could easily be an any-time-of-the-day tea. Add a pinch of sugar and some milk, and it's one heck of a dessert, too."

baxterblueberryrooib1I'm a huge fan of blueberry white tea; it was one of the first teas I ever fell in love with, and so it holds a special place in my heart. However, I'm never one to settle, and my eyes are always open for new kinds of blueberry tea. I tend to avoid most blueberry herbals, as they usually end up being far too tangy in comparison to sweeter nature of the white varieties. And that's pretty much the only kinds of blueberry tea I've encountered, until this one crossed my path. Blueberry Rooibos. Not entirely unheard of, even for me; thinking back, it's on the menu at my local tea house. But I've never tried it before, and had no idea what it would be like. I was thinking more along the lines of the blueberry white tea that I'm so fond of, and hoping it wasn't like the herbals that I'm not so fond of, but it ended up being completely different from either of them.

To put it simply, it smells, and tastes, like blueberry muffins. Yes, this is a dessert tea. I'm not a huge fan of dessert teas; they tend to be too rich and usually have a weird aftertaste because tea is usually nothing like dessert, texture-wise. But this one, this one I could drink by the gallon. The blueberry and the rooibos blend perfectly, the blueberry sweet and lightly tangy, the rooibos also slightly tangy and nutty. Without any additives, it could easily be an any-time-of-the-day tea. Add a pinch of sugar and some milk, and it's one heck of a dessert, tastier and better for you than what you probably have for dessert already.

Bottom Line: Unless you despise blueberries, you must try this tea. And at only $7.25 for four ounces, it more than justifies making room on the tea shelf for ;)
