Thumbs up!"The hazelnut flavor is instantly detectable, bringing with it a smooth nuttiness and a wonderfully toasty element. One thing is for sure...this ain't no light and refreshing tea; rather this is a hearty and filling brew guaranteed to satisfy any cravings for sweet and/or nutty flavors."

adagiohazelnutblackAt the onset of my obsession with tea, Adagio was my go-to source for tea. After reviewing such a wide variety of teas and tea vendors, I have realized that other companies may offer higher qualities and different varieties of teas, but when it comes to accessibility, affordability, and easy website navigation, Adagio still ranks pretty high in my books. Recently, Adagio introduced a slew of new flavors, among them being their hazelnut black tea. About a year and a half ago, I posted a comment on Adagio's TeaChat forum begging for some new flavors, including hazelnut, so I would like to think that maybe my whining helped contribute to the arrival of this new flavor. Regardless, on to the review. The first whiff of this tea will quickly clue you in that this tea is ALL hazelnut. The aroma is rich and strong, and very comforting. The flavor delivers exactly what the aroma promises. The hazelnut flavor is instantly detectable, bringing with it a smooth nuttiness and a wonderfully toasty element. One thing is for sure...this ain't no light and refreshing tea; rather this is a hearty and filling brew guaranteed to satisfy any cravings for sweet and/or nutty flavors. The flavor might be perceived as a bit heavy for some tea-drinkers, in which case I would suggest blending some of this tea with a lighter tea. In fact, I think that even for those that appreciate the rich hazelnut flavor, blending different flavors (perhaps Adagio's coconut or chocolate?) with the hazelnut tea will produce some pretty enjoyable brews. In all, I really enjoyed this tea, and found that it was best with a splash of milk. Sugar was not necessary, but adding a small amount certainly didn't take away from my enjoyment of the tea. As a last side note, the richness of the hazelnut will linger in your mouth long after the tea has been consumed, so I suggest that you carry around a breath mint or two to take care of those lingering flavors.

I recently tried this for the first time too and would have to say that it is quite good. I agree that it has a nice full flavor profile and body. I, too, enjoy it with a splash of milk. It is a nice, rich blend!
