"This is a nice non-fruit flavored white tea. It is mild, easy, with a generally short taste. I would enjoy it most in the afternoon and evening."

Background:It is always interesting trying a new brand of tea. Golden Moon says the white tea has nectar of melon. Oooooo, nectar, I love trying nectar!! The smell definitely has a sweet characteristic. The leaves are fairly dark and there is quite a few broken ones.
Brewing:
I made a large cup of tea with two large teaspoons of tea. The steep time was about 3 minutes.
Taste/Impressions:
The taste has a very subtle difference taste difference from pure white. There is an element to the taste reminding me of cucumber and melon. The taste profile ends very quickly with a dry quality. The ending is somewhat sour and a quick drop off in flavor.
As the tea cools there is a vegetable like quality to the whole taste profile from start to finish. I tend to like fruit based or plain white teas. Even the plain white teas have a sweet quality to them. It’s true I prefer sweet to sour or bitter. This tea however is different. It never gets over bearing or changes it’s complexity. I like that it is mild in taste. This is a good tea to match up with a meal, a good substitute for a glass wine. It is interesting that Golden Moon sells this tea with a description based on sweetness and succulent fruit. I find that ironic since I don’t experience much sweetness with this tea, but I still like it nonetheless.
Conclusion:
This is a nice non-fruit flavored white tea. It is mild, easy, with a generally short taste. I would enjoy it most in the afternoon and evening. It would match up well with many foods and be a good companion for dinner occasions.
