Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
"The coconut is the big player, but the more subdued pineapple offers a nice way to sweeten the blend. This tea was perfectly delicious as a warm cup of tea, but was, if possible, even better chilled. Zhi's Ambrosia is, quite simply, a masterfully-crafted blend."

The Zhi website writes of their new Ambrosia white tea blend: "We blend our white tea leaves with pineapple bits and coconut for a mouth-watering, succulent treat. This tea is totally and completely indulgent." If I was so inclined to be completely lazy, I could stop by review at that quote, as Zhi pretty much got that description right on. This is another perfectly-blended offering from Zhi Tea, which is quickly becoming one of my favorite tea merchants. This tea has a heavenly aroma dominated by rich, toasted coconut. I previously reviewed their coconut assam tea, which I also raved about, and it seems the common thread is the quality of the coconut used. This is intense and authentic coconut flavor, so if you are at all opposed to coconut, you shouldn't attempt this tea. But, if like me, you adore coconut, then this is the tea for you. The wonderful aroma translated 100% into the flavor, no case here of a pretty aroma giving a misleading idea of the tea's flavor. The coconut is the big player in this blend, but the more subdued pineapple offers a nice way to sweeten the blend. I didn't see any need to add sugar to this tea. Although Zhi's website describes the white tea base (which is an Indian tea from the Oothu estate) as a full-bodied white tea, I found it to be rather mild. Either way, it was well-suited to this blend and let the tropical flavors run the show. This tea was perfectly delicious as a warm cup of tea, but was, if possible, even better chilled. Zhi's Ambrosia is, quite simply, a masterfully-crafted blend and one I plan to purchase as soon as some space open up in my tea cabinet.
