Thumbs up!"Orange Glow really requires no sweetener, but I did enjoy what the addition of both some rock cane sugar and a splash of milk brought to the cup."

the-necessiteas1So, I must first confess that The Necessiteas is probably my favorite place to buy flavored tea blends. I have a cupboard full of her tins and many of them are ones that will be reordered when they run out. While it is not necessarily the least expensive place to purchase from, I do find that the blends tend to have all the little extra add-ins (flowers, candied fruit pieces, bits of chocolate, etc.) and the tea bases are decent enough that I don't find myself wondering how gross it might taste if the blend were not flavored. Mind you, these are blends that tend to have full flavor profiles, so this is probably not the right company for you to order from if you are looking for subtly flavored tea.

Orange Glow Rooibos is essentially rooibos blended with orange and cheesecake flavors and accented with orange peel and rose petals. The aroma coming from my sample package is strongly orange with a hint of creaminess from the cheesecake. I infused this in water that had been brought to a full boil for 5-6 minutes. The primary taste of this blend is the orange. The orange flavor is kind of a cross between orange juice and orange drink, and overall this has a nice orange taste. I have had several blends from The Necessiteas that feature cheesecake as a flavor and this one is on the subtler side. The cheesecake in this blend kind of reminds me more of a cream flavor than a cheesecake flavor. This is probably best described as orange rooibos with a splash of rich cream or cheesecake flavor.

If you are a fan of The Necessiteas and are looking for that strong cheesecake flavor that some of her blends provide, then this might disappoint you a bit. However, I personally enjoyed the cheesecake as a secondary player in this blend and the creaminess that it brought to the blend. Orange Glow really requires no sweetener, but I did enjoy what the addition of both some rock cane sugar and a splash of milk brought to the cup. This blend is also offered in a green tea version. Overall, this is another great blend from The Necessiteas that will likely find its way into my shopping cart at some point!
