Most of the "Earl Grey cream" blends I've tried, the Earl Grey is very strong, and the vanilla is more of an aftertaste, not really a main player. Usually they smell great but fail to deliver (on the vanilla front, anyway), so I wasn't surprised that this one smelled wonderful. A bit different than most of the ones I've tried; if I were to describe it, I think I'd say that the vanilla smelled more pure in this blend than any I've tried before.
The real test was whether it lived up to the expectations of the smell, and boy did it ever. The vanilla is the leading component of the flavor. It's not overpowering, but the Earl Grey definitely takes the backseat in this one. And, just how I like it, the brew wasn't even the slightest bit bitter, and was even better with a bit of milk.
Bottom Line: If you like your Earl Grey strong, this one might not be your cup of tea, but if you're even kind of a fan of vanilla and Earl Grey, this is a must try.
