This tea is sweet, smooth, and deep, with a touch of exotic fruit sweetness. The darker sweet element is subtle, but gives this an extra satisfying depth that I wouldn’t normally expect from other similar teas. With other smooth, dark black teas, I end up drinking huge mouthfuls to avoid having to drink lukewarm or cooled tea at the end of the cup, but something about this makes me slow down and enjoy it a bit more. Comparing this to good black tea is like saying James Bond is “some English guy”. I can’t identify what makes this a little different—the website calls it “complex chocolaty undertones” but I wish there were more of it. I brewed my cup for three minutes and it seemed perfect. This would be great iced or hot, and would take sugar quite well.
