Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
"The tea has a smooth flavor with a nice finish, which I would describe as slightly spicy and peppery. I found this to be a superb example of a Yunnan tea, easily ranking among the top 2 or 3 Yunnan varieties I have tasted. "

Narien is yet another tea vendor to whom I have been introduced thanks to my work with Teaviews, and this is an introduction for which I am very grateful. Although I have now only reviewed one of their teas, I have high hopes for future teas as well. Today, I sampled their Yunnan Golden Tips, described on the Narien website as: "Yunnan Golden Tips is a beautiful Yunnan black tea with tippy, golden colored leaves. Brews a rich aromatic cup with an delicious spice tone". This tea brewed to a beautifully rich amber-brown color. The tea has a smooth flavor with a nice finish, which I would describe as slightly spicy and peppery. This tea was well-balanced in that the flavor was not too strong or harsh, but nor was it weak and lacking flavor. This is an ideal afternoon brew, and for those that don't require a super strong hit in the morning, this could also work great as a breakfast brew, as it did for me. I found this to be a superb example of a Yunnan tea, easily ranking among the top 2 or 3 Yunnan varieties I have tasted. While this is an unflavored black tea, I would say that it is anything but plain; as far as basic black teas go, Narien's Yunnan Golden Tips is a fine and high-quality selection. On a last note, this tea is not only high quality, but is also an excellent value, at a price of $9 for 4oz, $14 for 8oz, or $24 for 16oz. I know I will be recommending this tea.
