Thumbs up!"A Yunnan with a slightly malty taste, but a nice surprising finish with honey and floral notes."

itilogoZhen Qu has to be one of my all time favorites. It's a Yunnan but totally different from all of the other Yunnans I've ever tasted. This tea is absolutely gorgeous. It's fluffy with golden tips and bits of "fuzz" intertwined with the short black leaves. At first sip, you know it's a Yunnan with it's slightly malty taste, but the finish surprises you with a nice sweet after taste of floral notes and honey.

The tea is from Fujian and is imported from ITI-International Tea Importers. Devan Shaw has it specially made for his company. He compensates certain tea craftsmen to drive over 100 miles away to another tea producing area to craft the tea in “their style.” The results are amazing! I consider it an absolute treasure-golden fuzz and all.

What does it take to get a 10 if one of your all time favorites only rates a 9?

  2. Amy Lawrence Says:

Because there are so many teas I have yet to taste, I always leave room for one that may be the absolute all-time best!

How is it a Yunnan AND a Fujian?
