We made this to be an unabashedly indulgent tea, so dive in." ---Zhi website.I have had the privilege of trying a number of tropical green teas from various companies. Some of them are quite good and some just miss the mark in one way or another. This tea is visually stunning with lots of shreds of flower petals fruit pieces. It also smells fantastic!! There are so many flower petal shreds in it that it does have a floral component to the aroma but it mostly smells like tropical fruit. I can distinctly detect both the pineapple and papaya ingredients in the aroma.
I followed Zhi's brewing instructions and infused the leaves for a full 3 min. Zhi's Tropical Green is quite delicious! I would say that the flavor profile is medium to full flavored. The green tea base is mild and fairly quiet in the cup. The pineapple and papaya are nicely balanced without one or the other totally dominating the taste. There is a very mild floral component in this as well. This walks the line perfectly between being nice and sweet and fruity, but not crossing the line into tasting like fruit cocktail juice.
Zhi has done it again and created another excellent blend. This blend includes all of the extras that I appreciate that make it both look and taste fantastic---dried fruit pieces and flower shreds. The ingredients used seem to be quality ones and I would not hesitate to recommend this blend and am considering adding it to my personal tea stash. Thumbs up!
