Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
"Altogether, this tea was a bit weak on flavor and not overly vegetal, making this an ideal tea for those just acquiring a taste for green tea or those trying green tea for the first time. Although the flavor was light, there was no questioning that this tea was fresh and of high quality."

Dragon Pearl's Mao Feng consists of large, fluffy leaves that brewed to a characteristic pale yellow color. Interestingly, as the tea sat in my teacup, it took on a bit darker, almost amber, color. The flavor of this tea was grassy yet not overly so. I was pleasantly surprised to detect a noticeable sweetness to this tea, which actually complemented the light earthy-grassy flavor. Altogether, this tea was a bit weak on flavor and not overly vegetal, making this an ideal tea for those just acquiring a taste for green tea or those trying green tea for the first time. I think that for those who have a real taste for green tea, this may be too gentle to be inspiring. This tea does not have the overly strong spinachy flavor that some green teas have. My impressions of this tea were completely opposite of how Dragon Pearl describes this tea on their website: "Hearty, rich and nutty". On the contrary, to me, this tea was very subtle and light in flavor. In all, however, I found this to be a decent green tea, and I will likely drink this one again, as my sample packet was quite generous. Although the flavor was light, there was no questioning that this tea was fresh and of high quality, and as with all Dragon pearl products, it is 100% organic.
