I'll come clean: Lipton iced tea, in particular the raspberry white tea, is a guilty pleasure of mine. In fact, and sort of generic raspberry iced tea will suit me just fine. Despite this dirty little secret, I'm also a huge fan of real iced tea, but I'll also be the first to admit that it can be a bit of a pain to brew; getting the right tea-to-ice ratio, finding enough ice to make a whole pitcher, heck, in my house it can sometimes be hard enough to find enough ice to make a single glass (my roommates have a tendency to empty an ice tray and put it back into the freezer empty. Then again, so do I, so I'm not judging.) And that is why whenever I come across any sort of bottled iced tea made from actual tea that tastes like actual tea, I'm always excited.MaryAnna's does not disappoint, unless you were expecting it to taste like actual Southern Sweet Tea. It is sweet, no doubt, but nowhere near as sweet as Sweet Tea, and I personally think that that is quite alright. I don't mind Sweet Tea, but I can't drink it mass quantities, which is my preferred way to drink iced tea. MaryAnna's Summer Sweet Tea fits the bill perfectly, however. It's sweet enough to suit my taste buds, but not so sweet as to overwhelm them, and it tastes like honest-to-goodness black tea. There's a bit of bitterness from the tea, but the sweet balances it nicely, so much so that even I could drink this on a regular basis, and I'm not a fan of black tea at all.
Bottom Line: It's a little bit more expensive than Lipton, but definitely worth it for the quality and lack of that nasty artificial stuff in off-the-shelf iced teas. If you're not so much a fan of plain iced tea, MaryAnna's also raspberry iced tea, which is definitely going on my "try as soon as possible" list ;)
