I also reviewed the tea. I went with a double-sized portion of leaf, and ended up with a pretty good cup. For this tea, 1 tsp is pretty inadequate.

I am going to agree with Katie and jamie. This is such a beautiful tea, but I found the taste very flat and harsh. I'd be afraid to use a larger quantity. I'm quite willing to blame age.

Part of the problem could also be that some teas age very quickly. If properly packaged, a few last a year, but some start to lose their luster after a few months. I always use a heaping teaspoon, so I wonder if this one was already starting to lose its flavour by the time I got to it.

Alas, it should have said on the package one *heaping* teaspoon per six ounce cup. The tea is so fluffy...

With the right amount of leaf, this tea is really flavorful. I feel bad you missed out on the experience! One of my faves, which is why we carry it!
