|"A tad too bitter but it seems like underneath that bitterness lies a soft Darjeeling."|
I used 1 teaspoon of leaf in 8oz of boiling water for 3 minutes to steep this tea. As I poured it into my cup, I loved golden amber color and was ready to try my first taste of a popular type of tea. I was sad to have been greeted with a bitter taste. It was too bitter for me to really enjoy. After a few sips I put in a little bit of sugar to see if that helped. No luck. I could still taste the bitterness and the sugar just made the tea taste awkward. The sugar didn't cover up the bitterness but instead really muddied the whole cup. I could only manage to drink half the cup. And I did try to find other flavors or good qualities. I really did. The taste behind the bitterness was soft and it may be a great tea if prepared differently. But my own taste buds could not get past the obvious bitterness. Perhaps this particular tea is for people who may like a little bit of a bite to their tea. I don't.
