Coconut teas hold a special place in my heart because my husband really, really hates coconut. That means any coconut teas I find are completely mine, and while I love sharing with my hubby, it's nice to have a tea that I can horde guilt-free. The dry leaves smell very faintly of coconut and not much else, but the light scent is appealing.At first, I was very satisfied with this tea. The scent is light and the flavour is definitely coconut without much collateral sweetness. I found it pleasantly mild and assumed it would make a great iced tea. I wasn't floored, but I enjoyed the cup overall. I did not get around to writing the review that day; however, so I made a second cup of coconut white earlier today, thinking my experience would be much the same.
Unfortunately, I was wrong. The flavour was much the same, but I found the coconut start to taste somewhat sickening halfway through the cup. It was somewhat unrealistic, and the white tea base was unexciting enough it couldn't overcome the generally weaksauce flavour. I didn't even manage to finish the second cup.
I'm not exactly sure what happened with this tea. I guess when I really thought about it, in the end I just didn't like the flavour. If you're looking for a coconut tea, I would sooner recommend Golden Moon's Coconut Pouchong.
