Thumbs up!"Taken black, it offered a bold, rich morning brew highlighted with sweet cocoa notes. This tea worked quite well as a nice morning pick-me-up; it was fragrant and full-bodied (although not aggressively so), yet also easy to drink. "

youmeteaenglishteaYou, Me & Tea is a tea vendor that I am just starting to become familiar with. From their website, it looks like they operate a cute little shop in Port Jefferson, New York, but also offer their products online (side note: the online store is nicely designed, I recommend you check it out). Today, I sampled their English Breakfast. I've always found it odd that even though "English Breakfast" is a pretty universal tea term, the contents in the tea vary based on the supplier. In some cases, English Breakfast is a blend of different teas while in others it might just one type of tea. In the case of You, Me & Tea, the tea consists solely of Ceylon tea. I usually think of Ceylon as a decent black tea, but not necessarily one that would, on its own, live up to the name of a breakfast tea. However, I was pleasantly surprised to taste that this was a nice strong Ceylon tea. Taken black, it offered a bold, rich morning brew highlighted with sweet cocoa notes, which was, in my opinion, the best attribute of this tea. As is the case with most English Breakfast teas, this was even better with a splash of milk and some sugar. This tea worked quite well as a nice morning pick-me-up; it was fragrant and full-bodied (although not aggressively so), yet also easy to drink. This tea doesn't demand concentration and is a tea that one can mindlessly sip and enjoy, which is the way it should be when one is looking for a morning start-up drink. This is a tea worth trying.
