The blood orange, aptly named for the crimson hue of its juice, tastes very similar to most other oranges. It's possibly a bit sweeter, or a bit more tart, and tastes amazing after soaking in some sangria. It is a pleasant alteration of color for select dishes, but otherwise offers little in the way of the spectacular on its own.Accordingly, the tea could very well be named TeaGschwendner Orange. Any of the orange family's members would serve a similar purpose, with only minor variations in the result. This blend is also pacakged with apple, beet, rosehips, hibiscus and some flower blossoms. The aroma is actually closest to orange Hi-C.
The key to all of the babbling about the subtle variations between oranges is that the end result is nothing more or less than an orange drink. It is an okay beverage, maintaining tea-like consistency and providing a consistent fruity scent. Accordingly, for tea sippers lusting for a thick taste of orange, this is ideal. For the rest of us, it's okay.
