Katie’s Teaview Snapshot

Cheesecake is a beautiful dessert. Or snack. Or breakfast. Or way of life. I'm drooling just thinking about cheesecake. In fact, if anyone has a stellar cheesecake recipe, please send it my way. Mm... I love cheesecake.Right-o, back on track. The dry leaves of this blend smell mostly like cheesecake, but after 3 minutes in just below boiling water, the blueberry flavour comes out significantly. Unfortunately, that is pretty much where my over-enthusiasm for this blend ends.
Thanks to Frank over at Zoomdweebie, I now know that some flavours are never naturally derived, and "natural cheesecake flavour" happens to be something no one actually makes. Just thought I'd share that fun tidbit. It isn't that this tea tastes particularly artificial, and it definitely tastes of cheesecake as opposed to a vague creamy flavour or something equally disappointing, but somehow it just doesn't taste right to me.
This is my first cheesecake tea, so I could be wrong in this assumption, but I get the impression that the flavour of the glorious dessert may not translate effectively to tea. It is probably no fault of The Necessiteas, and this blend still falls well within the range of pleasant, especially with a touch of sweetener. It is a good enough dessert tea, but for me it just can't compare to the real thing.

Katie, thanks for another great review and thank you for passing along the info from Frank. It makes perfect sense and matches with my experience in tasting many things, not just tea.
Teaviews rocks, but we knew that.
