I had never heard of Tavalon teas before I began reviewing, and I am always eager to try something new, so I was excited to try purity. It's a blend of ceylon black tea and peppermint with a hint of ginger root. It's description includes advice for drinking this tea "the morning after a long night." I'll have to remember that. ha.That being said, this is a very high quality tea. The flavor of the peppermint is bold, but not overwhelming. The hint of ginger adds just the right oomph to the tea. Although, the ginger would be hard to detect for someone who doesn't really enjoy or know what it tastes like in teas.Being a black tea, it adds strength to these flavors, which would otherwise fall a little short of greatness if found in an herbal or a green. I should also note that this is definitely a tea for peppermint lovers. Even if you really like black tea, you should also enjoy a bold mint, or else you might not like this one.
As I've said before, I get motion sickness a lot, because of that I drink a lot of ginger and mint teas. This one rocks, I love that both peppermint and ginger are present, packing a 1, 2, punch against any ailments you might have. I guess now I'm understanding how it can be a morning after tea...
