After a fairly hectic day, I was looking to unwind with a sweet and soothing cup of caffeine-free tea. Enter TeaGschwendner's Rooibush Chocolate. I love chocolate and I love rooibos, so the pairing of the two sounds like a sweet deal to me. TeaGschwendner uses the term rooibush instead of the more common rooibos, and although that term unexplicably rubs me the wrong way, I let it slide given that I was in the mood for some chocolate. This tea has a rich and chocolatey aroma that gave a good indication of the tea's quality. Thanks to the basic ingredients used (rooibos, cocoa beans, and natural flavor), this tea has a chocolate flavor that is simple and easily accessible. Rather than add an exhaustive list of ingredients, this is simple chocolate flavor through and through, and the simplicity is what I think makes it so delicious. It tastes very much as if a piece of chocolate was melted in my cup of tea. Although the chocolate flavor is not what I would consider overly powerful or too intense, it is well-suited to go hand-in-hand with the rooibos, creating a delightful chocolatey-nutty treat. This tea has a rich, buttery flavor to it, making this a dessert tea that can really act as a dessert. Although it is nothing spectacular, this is a tasty tea who's flavor is true to its name. I would recommend giving TeaGschwendner's Rooibush Chocolate a try.
