As I have said before, this company takes great pride in the quality and taste of their teas. They produce some truly unique flavors as the proprieter is a master blender. She also puts the new products by date so you can keep checking - you never know what creative blend she will come up with next. This tea is a rooibos blend consisting of strawberry, chocolate and banana chips. It certainly sounds like all the necessary parts to a banana spilt to me. I always get impressed when I see big chunks of ingredients in a blend and this one did not disappoint. My husband is always nagging me for not cutting my ingredients small enough when I am cooking (especially if I‘m cutting them for him.) I personally like different sizes and colors. In this tea there are strawberry slices, chocolate chips, banana chips and of course rooibos. It smells superbly enticing. After I steeped the tea it had a more pronounced banana aroma. The color of the tea was that beautiful, traditional rooibos red. In the cup the aroma had more depth and was more complex. The taste was sweet, smooth and there’s no need for sugar. It‘s almost candy like. This blend is perfect for a hot summer day, it’s refreshing. It’s also good iced, which makes sense since it’s supposed be an ice cream -like tea. Chocolate and fruits always seam to be a great combination with a rooibos, so this really is a winner. I would definitely have this again and I recommend it for anyone who wants something sweet, different and fruity.
