Thumbs up!"I felt cleansed or something, yet that could've been a placebo effect. To its credit, that's usually a feeling I get from a good pot of white tea."

yogiberrydetoxEven the most casual of tea drinkers I know carry one of the following: some type of "Throat Coat" or a detox tea. Most of these people - such as myself - eat out quite often and partake of the occasional spirit. Neither type were purchased for taste, although most "throat" blends tend to have a creamy dandelion/fennel character about them. Detoxes, however, are usually rancid as a general rule. I don't know why that is. I guess the best herbs for you are the ones that taste like mulch broth.

In saunters Yogi Tea to shake things up a bit. Their Berry Detox is a bit of a different beast entirely, and I do mean beast. As with all Yogi blends, the list of ingredients could fill a phone book. Not to mention the inclusion of some fruits I didn't know existed in nature. (What is an "emblic" anyway?!)

As per usual, I was at work when I tried this dear li'l bagged tonic. People probably thought I'd lost it if they witnessed me sniffing the tea bag. To which I would've responded, in my best Alan Rickman voice, "It has a light fruit and fennel scent. Plum-like. Very outputting."

Then I would've threatened them with a spoon.

Anyway, back to the detox.

Yogi's Berry Detox brews to a pale, foggy orange-red. Murky even, with a very dominant but muted strawberry scent. Taste-wise , I'll define it as very pleasant, refreshing, and surprisingly...this marks the first "medicinal" tea that appeared to bring mental clarity on first sip. I felt cleansed or something, yet that could've been a placebo effect. To its credit, that's usually a feeling I get from a good pot of white tea. Not often from a teabag.

People don't normally drink detox teas for the taste. They have 'em because they think they need 'em. Well, this one may provide a bit of taste and tonic-like property to the table. I approve.
