Thumbs up!"I am not a big fan of cinnamon and was glad to find while this is the predominant smell it is not an overpowering taste. Their website describes the blend as well balanced and I would concur. The flavor is smooth and creamy and not one flavor prevails."

goldenmoonkashmirichaiChantilly Virginia, the home of Golden Moon Tea, is far from the Himalayas. Founded in 1993 and offering 31 different teas, blends and tisanes, the company sells a Northern India specialty called Kashmiri Chai. Anyone even remotely interested in chai should give this a sip.

To make this tea, Golden Moon combines both black and green teas with cardamom, clove, spice oil and cinnamon. The best way to describe the fragrance of this tea is - exhilarating. Close your eyes, breath in the aroma and travel to far away places that you may have only seen in films and on TV.

I am not a big fan of cinnamon and was glad to find while this is the predominant smell it is not an overpowering taste. Their website describes the blend as well balanced and I would concur. The flavor is smooth and creamy and not one flavor prevails.

I like my chai with soymilk as I think it creates a new dimension called nuttiness. I would recommend steeping this tea for five minutes.

UPDATE: I just tried cream - even better than soymilk! It boosted my score by a half point. Be forewarned, using this blend to produce a second cup results in what I would call Chantilly Chai. The flavors are too diminished to be considered authentic Kashmiri Chai.

Special Offer! For a limited time, Golden Moon Tea is offering deep discounts on their product line. If you're interested in purchasing this tea or others from Golden Moon Tea, shop now by clicking this link: Golden Moon Tea
