I have always used sieves, my Adagio IngenuiTea, or tea ball to brew my loose leaf teas, I've been curious to try empty tea filters. I was very impressed with these hemp filters.I had been cautioned in the past not to try filters because they change the flavor of the tea. As an experiment I brewed the same tea in the filter and in my tea pot; to my surprise the flavor was almost exact! Ayurveda Pura touts the convenience of their filters as their main appeal. I would agree. It's hard to take loose leaf tea with me when I travel, since I have to take along all of my brewing agents as well. I'm excited to find these and will definitely use them for my future trips.
I have heard that a common problem with these sort is the liquid wicking up to the top of the bag. I didn't find this here. Maybe because the size of the bags I received were very small, or because hemp isn't as absorbent as other, paper bags. I'm not sure. The only complaint I have is that the opening of these bags are quite small. I have a special "perfect tea" measure, and I couldn't fit it into the opening of the bag. I had to slowly shake the tea in and spilled some on my counter. Otherwise, these "brew-as-you-like" filters come highly recommended.
