Thumbs up!"The overall flavor of this tea is quite enjoyable and characterized by a general honey-floweriness. I could not distinguish the individual contributions of each flower in the ingredients list, but they did combine to create a wonderfully-balanced and interesting blend. "

teafrog10011001 Nights is the first tea that I have sampled from TeaFrog, a Canadian company that offers a nice variety of loose leaf tea. Their website is smartly designed and user friendly. This tea is a blend of Ceylon black tea, China sencha, jasmine flowers, rose flowers, sunflower blossoms, and marigold flowers. The Ceylon black tea presents itself as thin, wiry and broken-leaf pieces. The China sencha is greener and fatter. Because I was afraid that traditional black tea brewing parameters would make the sencha taste too bitter, I steeped this tea in steaming rather than boiling water. The brew has the color of a lighter-colored black tea and an aroma that is floral, but not overpowering. The overall flavor of this tea is quite enjoyable and characterized by a general honey-floweriness. I could not distinguish the individual contributions of each flower in the ingredients list, but they did combine to create a wonderfully-balanced and interesting blend. I would recommend simply drinking and enjoying this blend, rather than trying to tease apart the flavors. This tea was surprisingly sweet and needed no milk or sugar; this tea was perfectly enjoyable on its own. The flavor of the tea is a little heavy, so I think this performs better as a hot tea than an iced tea. As someone who doesn't always love flowered tea blends, I was surprised at how much I liked this blend. Even though the flavor of the tea itself was a little heavy, the floral elements were not too pungent. I would happily recommend this tea to others because it is an unusual blend and is also affordable ($6 for 3.5 ounces).
