"It does indeed taste a bit like a chai, but 'lighter'; I think the ginger and coriander are the prominent flavors. It also lives up to its classification as a 'spice' blend: the aftertaste consists of a slight but noticeable burning sensation on your tongue and the back of your throat. "

Lately, I've been searching for a good spice blend. Winter is cold in Wisconsin, and a good spicy tea cuts through the chill like nobody's business. This blends definitely fits the bill, though not necessarily in the way you might expect. It's a very interesting blend, actually. Ginger, cinnamon, apple bits, fennel, coriander, star anise, and licorice root. It smells very much like a chai, and the blend itself looks like wood chips (tastes better than wood chips, though!). Once brewed, it has a very pale yellow liquor, and still smells like a chai. It does indeed taste a bit like a chai, but 'lighter'; I think the ginger and coriander are the prominent flavors. It also lives up to its classification as a 'spice' blend: the aftertaste consists of a slight but noticeable burning sensation on your tongue and the back of your throat. It's not unpleasant, but it was quite unexpected from a tea, and I would imagine would do wonders to warm you up on cold winter's day.
Bottom line: it's a wonderfully warming spicy (literally) tea, and certainly worth trying if you like chai or other spice blends. I would probably purchase again, but it's not necessarily on the very top of my list.
