Vanessa’s Teaview Snapshot
"This tea has a sweet and slightly grassy flavor, with just a hint of soy-like nuttiness and it lacks the vegetal and bitter properties that can sometimes turn people off from green tea. This is what Dragonwell should look and taste like."

As I approached my sample of Grand Tea's Shifeng Longjing, I knew just about nothing about this tea. However, as soon as I opened my sample it was clear that this was a dragonwell tea. The leaves have the broad, flattened shape resulting from the Dragonwell processing methods. I brewed my leaves for 3 minutes in ~180-degree water. The tea was a pale yellow color. This tea has a sweet and slightly grassy flavor, with just a hint of soy-like nuttiness. It is mild, gentle, and easy-drinking. This is an approachable green tea that lacks the vegetal and bitter properties that can sometimes turn people off from green tea. I found this tea to be a great representation of its tea type; this is what Dragonwell should look and taste like. Because of its light-bodied flavor, I can see this tea pairing well with light meals, particularly vegetable-heavy meals. Bottom line here is that this is a decent cup of dragonwell tea, and one that I would happily recommend to others. It has been a while since I have had any dragonwell tea, and I am glad that Grand Tea's Shifeng Longjing was the one to break my dragonwell-free spell.
