Thumbs up!"There are no odd tastes that stick out like a sore thumb. Just a straightforward Ceylon that is neither subdued nor overpowering yet still enjoyable. "

narienkenilworthSometimes you’re in the mood for a simple tea. One that you can enjoy without making the brain cells work too hard. Narien Teas Ceylon Kenilworth is one such tea. This Ceylon is from the Kenilworth Estate in Sri Lanka and is a lovely basic black tea.

The dry leaves are dark brown, long and wiry. They omit a soft sweet scent that has a hint of smokiness. I steeped the tea in boiling water for only 3 minutes as the instructions suggested. What ended up in my cup was a beautiful golden brown colored tea that tastes smooth and clean. There are no odd tastes that stick out like a sore thumb. Just a straightforward Ceylon that is neither subdued nor overpowering yet still enjoyable. It is not a complex tea. Rather, it is what it is and I appreciate that. I was able to enjoy it with a quiet mind that wasn’t trying to figure out or understand the tea. It was really quite a pleasant experience to drink such a good tasting, effortless tea.

Find this and many other top-quality teas at Narien Teas, Inc..

Buyer Beware! Order placed via Narien.com. No confirmation email. No parcel tracking number. Terms & Conditions place responsibility for ‘lost’ parcels with the buyer.

100g tea order ultimately arrived late and packaged in massive 500g zip top foil bags. Tea not as advertised; not a single whole leaf in the lot despite the pretty pictures posted on the website.

Narien also censors less than spectacular 5-star reviews on their website (three reviews were submitted but never posted – 3 to 4 star ratings in each).

Save yourself the headache – use a reputable tea provider.
