necessiteas-strawberry-bana.jpgOne of my favorite smoothie combinations is strawberry banana. Second only to orange pineapple. I love to make them for breakfast, but sometimes I need a drink that's a little bit quicker. I love The NecessiTeas as a company, the tea is always top notch and the flavor profiles are always so interesting I can never resist trying new things. When I saw that there was a strawberry banana tea we could try I was very excited.

I wasn't surprised at all with this tea, it tasted wonderful and was mixed flawlessly. To smell the dry tea you are bombarded with the scent of strawberry, looking at it you can see why. There are huge chunks of dried strawberry and banana dancing around the delicate green tea leaves. The green tea is just as delicate in the bag as it is in the cup. I got almost no hint of it at all while sipping, but if you concentrate you get a hint of it. This would be a great tea for someone who wants the health benefits of green tea, but can't stomach the heavier varietals.

I thought this might be a tea I would like better iced, but I was wrong. Even though it's quite hot in Ohio right now, I just turned up the air conditioning and enjoyed my strawberry banana. It didn't need much sweetening, just a little honey did the trick. The second cup yielded a bit more of a banana flavor, but the strawberry still took center stage in the flavor profile. I can't say I was surprised, since banana is a much more mild and creamy flavor anyway. I'm very pleased with this tea, I will definitely have to get more, and at 3.5 ounces for 12 bucks it's not a bad price.
