This blend of black currant and blackberry leaves arrives in the form of a tall, thin, pyramid-shaped infuser. The infuser itself doesn't allow much of an aroma to escape, but does serve as a convenient alternative to the teabag formula. It appears to provide a foil similar to most satchels.Following a standard three minute steep, the tea offers a sharp, sweet currant scent. It is very sharp and very sweet. The flavor is honest, considering the ingredients; it is entirely black fruit. Common amongst fruit teas, the liquid is thick. It isn't an unbearable syrup, but it does possess some of those syrupy characteristics, lingering on the tongue a bit too long.
That texture problem is the key failure in this blend. Even with a shorter second steep, the taste drags over the tongue for too long. It isn't a bad flavor for a black currant, but the residual effect eliminates the possibility for high quality.
