Not Great"Despite honest flavors of black currant and blackberry leaves, the overly thick texture drags down the quality of this tea experience."

teaforteblackcurrantThis blend of black currant and blackberry leaves arrives in the form of a tall, thin, pyramid-shaped infuser. The infuser itself doesn't allow much of an aroma to escape, but does serve as a convenient alternative to the teabag formula. It appears to provide a foil similar to most satchels.

Following a standard three minute steep, the tea offers a sharp, sweet currant scent. It is very sharp and very sweet. The flavor is honest, considering the ingredients; it is entirely black fruit. Common amongst fruit teas, the liquid is thick. It isn't an unbearable syrup, but it does possess some of those syrupy characteristics, lingering on the tongue a bit too long.

That texture problem is the key failure in this blend. Even with a shorter second steep, the taste drags over the tongue for too long. It isn't a bad flavor for a black currant, but the residual effect eliminates the possibility for high quality.
