Raspberry Nectar is my first taste from Tea Forte. I was really excited to try their teas because of their incredibly nifty pyramid tea bags. Call me a sucker for unique presentations, but I am really digging their teabags even though I tend to lean towards loose leaf. This particular herbal tisane contains hibiscus, rosehip, apple, blackberry leaves, raspberries, orange peel, flavoring, and citric acid. It omits the most amazing aroma that is hearty and consists of real, aka not artificial, raspberries and blackberries fragrances. I was quite impressed with the way the blend smells.I steeped the pyramid for 5 minutes in boiling water and was stunned at the resulting color. I have never seen a more gorgeous dark burgundy color from any sort of tea or tisane. The aroma of the liquor was the same as it was dry with a hint of a tropical fruit punch fragrance. Taste wise, this tisane really packs a punch. It is ever so slightly acidic and tart but there is a much more prominent character to it that has a deep taste of raspberries and blackberries. This tisane is a lovely treat that has some real power to it. It is not a shy tisane. It shouts at you with its bold aroma and flavor yet it does not knock you down or leave your head spinning. I was honestly very pleased discovering this herbal blend and have plans to introduce this into my permanent tea collection.
