rishipuerehgingerThe strong, spicy aroma of the dry leaves screams much more than ginger. It's a loud scent, but it simmers down appropriately after steeping. The remaining hints of ginger and some other friendly brown spices creates a reasonable steam without losing the edge of the dry version.

Initial consumption presents a sense of amber, that rustic circumstance on which pu-erh rides. Noticing the addition of orange peel, for me, was offsetting. I do not care for orange peel in tea. That said, it didn't carry the usual effect in this blend. Everything fell together reasonably.

The kick to this is present, offering a bit of spice for the head. That's the combination of the tea and the ginger, serving as a pleasant boost to do something. This last element is really what eased the tea up the rating scale for me. It does what it should do.

The other element of great relevance is that the tea becomes more enjoyable as it progresses. This fact holds true through the second cup, which I find to be more enjoyable than the first. This is a solid tea.
