Rishi's Peppermint Rooibos is a blend of organic Peppermint leaves and organic Rooibos. It also includes natural essential oils of bergamont and peppermint. A very simple blend but that is fine with me. I used boiling water and 1 teaspoon of leaves for every cup of water. I actually made quite a lot of this when I was doing my tasting because I had a feeling I would enjoy it but it ended up not being what I expected.The aroma of the dry leaves smells like...peppermint. Big surprise there. And I'm sure you will be shocked to know the aroma of the steeped tea was...peppermint. Nothing wrong with that though. I quite enjoy minty drinks so I'm not complaining. When I took my first sip I felt like I had just been smacked in the head with a giant peppermint leaf. Honestly, I was quite overwhelmed.
The rooibos does make an appearance underneath the extremely strong peppermint taste and it adds an interesting twist. I was unable to finish the pot I made of this because there is only so much minty freshness I can take. This is a good rooibos blend but I think the peppermint is just a little too dominant for my tastes. If that is what you're looking for however, than this will be something you will want to check out. Despite that fact that I enjoy the taste of mint, I would not keep this around because for me, it was way over the top. However, this does not taste bad at all. Just strong.
