Laura’s Teaview Snapshot
"The nutty white tea itself takes centerstage and the coconut and vanilla play just some very minor supporting roles."

Unfortunately, when I sat down to enjoy my one and only sample of White Ambrosia, I had a little family emergency that had to be taken care of immediately. Luckily, I did not oversteep my the brew, but I wasn't able to write a review out following my regular process. Normally my process is pretty straightforward...I drink the tea while writing the review, let the review season a few days, then come back to it while enjoying a second cup of the tea and edit the review. Since I have only one pyramid with which to sample the blend, I had to jot down a few notes and write the review accordingly.Tea Forte lists the ingredients in this as white tea, coconut chips, safflower and flavoring. I prepared this using water that was beginning to have small bubbles rise to the top of the pot and infused the bag for an unknown amount of time (emergency had my attention). I did periodically sip the brew to make sure it wasn't bitter and that the flavor tasted developed. The first thing that I noticed about the blend is that it is dominated by a nutty white tea base. There is a natural sweetness to the blend and a mild coconut undertone. There is also a hint of vanilla in the blend. The nutty white tea itself takes centerstage and the coconut and vanilla play just some very minor supporting roles. You can tell there is something fruity and creamy about the tea, but it doesn't scream that this is a vanilla coconut blend per se. I personally also thought I tasted some apple notes, but they might have been all in my head.
If I had purchased this blend hoping for some vanilla or coconut-dominated white tea, then I would be disappointed. However, this is a pretty good option for 'bagged' white tea. The white tea itself is decent and the flavors, while subdued, are decent as well. I don't know that I will personally seek this one out for purchase, but I wouldn't turn down a second cup. If you find yourself in need of some nutty white tea in a pyramid, then you might give this one consideration.
